Justin Bieber the Big victor at the MTV EMAs
The resurgent star also won awards for Biggest Fans, Best Look, Best Canadian Act, Best North American Act, and Best Collaboration, for his work on Skrillex & Diplo’s “Where Are Ü Now”. One Direction won for best pop group, preventing Bieber from sweeping all the awards for which he was nominated.
After collecting one of his awards Bieber stated, “It’s been a long couple of years”. “Can I just say I had like 10 outfit changes, and I made sure none of them were Bieber-esque”, she said while speaking with her doppelganger.
Clad in a boyish red ensemble, Bieber performed his single “What Do You Mean?” for screaming fans – many of whom surely helped him win the best fans category – inside the Mediolanum Center in Italy’s fashion capital of Milan. “Thank you for putting this smile on my face”, wrote the night’s big victor.
According to the Daily Mail, Sheeran appeared surprised at winning the award saying, “Sorry I missed all of that because I was having a conversation”.
In addition, Duran Duran were honored with the first ever “Video Visionary Award” at tonight’s ceremony.
Gender fluid Orange is the New Black heartthrob Ruby Rose took to the stage at the EMAs last night, and delivered an awesome message of inclusiveness. They included Taylor Swift, who won Best Song for Bad Blood, Rihanna who took Best Female, boyband One Direction who won Best Pop and Best Hip Hop victor Nicki Minaj.
Rose recently broke free from Litchfield prison to land a role in the upcoming Resident Evil: The Final Chapter.
“I just got off of shooting an action film, hence the cane because I’ve torn my leg. I just tore my calf muscle five times, no big deal”, Rose joked of her accessory to The Hollywood Reporter.
MTV aired the red carpet pre-show and also the entire awards ceremony via a virtual reality livestream that used multiple cameras and touted the Milan show as the first global music awards event providing fans this type of immersive experience during the entire event.
