Justin Bieber turns down $5 million!
A source tells the publication the 23-year-old admitted he had been a fan since Zac’s breakout film High School Musical, but suggested the Hollywood hunk should be “more selective about the roles he takes”, adding, “Justin was very honest and kind of went in on Zac”.
Justin Bieber reportedly turned down a $5m offer to play at a Republican Convention event in Cleveland last week.
Bieber’s management said so despite being assured by the event management that his performance would not mean an endorsement of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump or the party’s policies, TMZ reported.
It would have been easy money, and Bieber was actually considering accepting the offer, his biggest to date, TMZ cited its sources from CAA, the talent agency which handles the young singer. Being Canadian, he does not have to vote after all.
Justin’s manager Scooter Braun, a staunch Democrat and supporter of Hillary Clinton, reportedly “told Justin it was up to him if he wanted to do the show, but he said he couldn’t continue to represent the singer if he did, out of principle”. Braun has hosted fundraisers for the Democratic party in the past. Scooter and CAA felt, regardless of the representations, this was “100 percent political”.
Bieber was also told that LeBron James would be at the event, but LeBron not only denied he was going and even advised Bieber not to go, reported The Guardian. The GOP instead asked that the banners read “All Lives Matter”.
However, 28-year-old Efron, who just wrapped filming the new Baywatch remake, took Bieber’s notes in stride and “appreciated” the advice, the insider says.
