Justin Timberlake inducted into Memphis Hall of Fame
Justin Timberlake, who was recently awarded with the 2015 Memphis Music Hall of Fame Induction for his talents in the music industry, went gaga over his “beautiful, loving and incredibly understanding” wife Jessica Biel during his thank you speech.
The 34-year-old singer praised his 33-year-old wife during his speech after being inducted into the Memphis Music Hall of Fame on Saturday (17.10.15).
“This is the f-ing coolest thing that has ever happened to me”, Justin said.
Later, he added: “The Grammys are political”.
“When people ask where I’m from, I say Memphis”, he said.
Timberlake was introduced onto the stage by close friend Jimmy Fallon. And don’t get me started on Hollywood… Timberlake’s 20-minute speech served as a tribute to the city that’s home to Beale Street, Stax Records and an epicenter of the blues, The Tennessean reports. And to say that I stand alongside them now.
The event scheduled for Saturday night was in honor of musicians and performers with strong connections to Memphis.
The Sexyback singer still has not forgotten his roots as he said in his speech: ‘My favorite part about this city is we don’t apologize for who we are, and that’s who this city has taught me to be’.
Getting teary, he explained: “I wanna thank all the great artists in this hall”. Paris may rendezvous, but they ain’t got no Rendezvous. Egypt has the pyramid; they don’t have no Bass Pro Pyramid’. Also inducted have been Sam & Dave, Elvis Presley guitarist Scotty Moore, Booker T. & the MG’s drummer Al Jackson Jr., singer Alberta Hunter, blues pianist Memphis Slim and nation singer Charlie Rich. Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards accepted the award for Scotty Moore, who didn’t attend.
