Juventus: Pogba not for sale
“Whoever is interested needs to talk to us and not with agent Mino Raiola“, Juventus general director Giuseppe Marotta said.
Joan Laporta, who is one of th FC Barcelona presidential candidate, has made campaign promises to secure Pogba’s signature as he seeks the club’s top post for the second time following his hugely successful reign between 2003 to 2010.
This is after Raiola said [ESPN]: “If Laporta wins the Barcelona presidential election, there’d be a high chance of Pogba ending up at Barcelona“.
Paul Pogba won an impressive 55% of his duels last season in Serie A.
Loporta’s big claim is that should he become president then the club could complete a deal for in-demand Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba.
“We have negotiated with Barca in recent months,” added Marotta.
“But the player is not for sale”.
“This is the right way to do business between two teams that have so much history and importance in the world of football”. The trip to Turin seemed political, they were there to take a photograph.
The situation is clear between Juventus and Barcelona since the meeting we had in Milan with their director of sporting institutional relations, Albert Soler, and my friend Ariedo Braida.
“Barcelona made a serious and concrete offer, but we responded the same way and rejected it”.
It was recently revealed by FC Barcelona president Bartomeu that Luis Enrique did not want Pogba and was more keen to sign Vidal and Turan.
Barcelona had been in protracted negotiations with Juventus over the sale of Pogba, with the Catalan media reporting that both clubs had come to a gentlemen’s agreement over the Frenchman’s release in 2016.
