Kabali 1st Day Collection | 1st Friday Box Office Report
As expected, Rajinikanth and Radhika Apte starrer Kabali sets the Box Office on fire on its opening day.
Thanu says the official collection figure is awaited but the film has easily collected Rs. 100 crore on its opening day. The collection is wonderful not only in India but all over the world.
Coming to the overseas record, Kabali has also become the highest grossing Indian film across the world grossing $3.25 million and trouncing Dhoom3’s $3.15 million.
With “Kabali”, Thailava also broke his own box-office record, which stood at Rs 37 crores earlier.
Rajinikanth’s Kabali first day collection: According to the statement by the producers Kabali earned Rs 100 crore from Tamil Nadu theatres alone – the tickets in the state are capped at rates not exceeding Rs 120.
Kabali was released in approximately 8,000-10,000 screens all over the world including 480 screens in the United States, 490 in Malaysia and above 500 in Gulf countries.
“It is the best collection an Indian actor has ever had. It was due to the unprecedented advance bookings and Rajinikanth factor, the film managed to register good opening”, Trinath said.
But, the film fell short of breaking the all time day one collection record, which is still held by Shah Rukh Khan’s 2014 release “Happy New Year”.
The film’s distributor, Fox Star India, believes that the Rajinikanth phenomenon managed to live up to the hype. Wasn’t it fretting that since his two releases “Lingaa” and “Kochadaiiyaan” were duds at box office. It was not really a film in which he starred. There were all kinds of rumours but the film earned well.
If Telugu fans gave this much welcome, imagine the hysteria Tamil Nadu, where the film has reportedly grossed almost 20.5 crore, overtaking the previous all-time highest record of 15.5 crores set by Thala Ajith’s Vedalam, and the 5 crore variation speaks volumes about Kabali’s sensation in Tamil Nadu.
