Kaepernick says he has great relationships with teammates, hopes he’s not
Whether he thinks it is actually the case or not, it’s not like he would come out and say he thinks it is coming from within. “I mean, I don’t believe that”. It sounded as if he wasn’t sure if he was being made a scapegoat for the team’s struggles.
“I really hope not. For me, I give everything I can to this organization, I give everything I can to my teammates to try to help us win and to try to help us be better moving forward”, Kaepernick said.
“I have a great relationship with my teammates”, Kaepernick said, via the San Jose Mercury News.
Kaepernick and his team’s performances have attracted criticism so far this season, with the 49ers now in possession of a 2-5 record heading into Sunday’s games against the St Louis Rams.
Jay Glazer of FOX Sports reported over the weekend that Kaepernick is “on an island” in the team’s locker room because he doesn’t connect with his teammates, which followed previous reports of teammates having issues with Kaepernick during a players-only meeting.
“First of all, our locker room is straight…” Kap isn’t on a damn island, or whatever someone says. But he fell back into a few old habits against Seattle last week, going 13-of-24 for 124 yards in a 20-3 loss. “It’s not only Kaepernick, there’s plenty of blame to go around”. He had X-rays after the game for a swollen thumb.
“My relationship with my teammates is great. That’s all I’m anxious about”, Kaepernick said. “I have to be able to make plays for this team and I have to be a difference-maker when I step on the field”. “That’s a situation I don’t understand the agenda who’s saying that or what the source is”.
“Look, if they’re not in the room when we close the door with 53 players and the coaching staff, they really don’t have our best interest at hand”, Tomsula said Wednesday morning.
“I think I’m a guy that’s in the locker room more than most coaches….” “There’s stuff that comes from all over the place that I don’t, I mean, I don’t know where people are getting it. I don’t believe it’s coming from here”.
