Kaine, Vilsack at top of Clinton’s running mate list, sources say
Hillary Clinton returned to her home in NY where she will spend two days finalizing her decision on a running mate.
Rumor has it presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton is about to do something yuge.
“We’re going to be looking at everybody who has something to contribute”, Clinton told ABC News’ David Muir last month.
Vilsack has a long-standing personal friendship with Clinton, but the other leading candidate, Sen.
Warren could help Clinton with liberal supporters who originally preferred her rival, Bernie Sanders for the Democratic nomination. All those who spoke did so on condition of anonymity because the selection process is not complete.
Sources close to Hickenlooper and Colorado’s Clinton campaign say there’s a lot of excitement that he’s made the final list. Stavridis and Clinton already have ties together, as they headed NATO Supreme Allied Command Europe and the Department of State during Obama’s first term.
Clinton is likely to announce her decision on Friday or Saturday, according to sources familiar with her plan.

Clinton campaign spokesman Brian Fallon declined to comment to the Post. He and Vilsack share many professional and political attributes, notably their governing experience. “He’s more of a risk”, one Democrat close to Clinton said.

The son of Dominican immigrants, Perez could also serve as a counterweight to Trump on immigration, especially in battleground states. “Kaine fits the bill in both respects extremely well”. Vilsack was vetted in 2004 by John Kerry as a potential vice presidential candidate but was not chosen.
Clinton has not structured her search around a traditional “short list”.

He could do well among minority voters and, perhaps most notably, help add a spark and youthfulness to her ticket, which some party insiders believe she needs.
In 2009, he became Supreme Allied Commander Europe, NATO’s top military position, which is traditionally occupied by American senior officers.
Other possible choices include Housing Secretary Julian Castro, Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper, Ohio Sen. Tim Kaine, Sen. Cory Booker of New Jersey and Sen.
