Kamal gets Positive response
Kamal Haasan’s portrayal as an undercover cop is superb and he did his usual best in his role.
An adapted version of French film “Sleepless Nights”, which I have not seen, the remake from what I have read have not deviated much from the original.
Director Rajesh M Silva has ensured that the film is engaging throughout the entire duration and he has succeeded in that for the most part except for a few minor glitches and slowness in a few portions. The undercover cop also must overcome two fellow colleagues who think that he is corrupted. Kamal returns in another stylish get up this time in Thoongaavanam, an action thriller that has the actor occupying bulk of the screen presence in a screenplay written by the man himself. But Kamal Haasan is the reason to watch this instead of other flicks. The kitchen fight scene is the high point in the film and duo has done it with perfection.Ghibran’s music is another plus point of the film, he exactly knows where to give silence and where to speed up the film with pulsating score. Overall, Cheekati Rajyam is a gripping thriller with world-class execution! It is featured with Kamal Haasan in the main role and Trisha is playing a female lead role, Also it is featured with Prakash Raj, Kishore. When we had a lot of expectations with Uttama Villain, he gave us a disaster. He expressed this idea during in his interview with TV9 while promoting Cheekati Rajyam. Trisha who is known for her beauty, got a good role in this movie and she is nice as Mallika, a lady police officer. Versatile actor Prakash Raj gained the attention of the audience and he performed well during the climax. He took to Twitter and said “After a hectic day, watched slick thriller “Cheekati Rajyam” with the legend himself, Kamal Haasan”. The movie takes Tamil Cinema to another level with the different kind of thriller Genre.
Co-produced by Kamal Haasan and others, the movie includes the star cast, Kamal Haasan, Trisha, Prakash Raj, Kishore, and Asha Sarath.
