Kamal Haasan to receive Chevalier honour from the French government
The Nadigar Sangam (Artistes’ Association) and DMK Treasurer and Opposition Leader in Tamil Nadu Assembly M K Stalin greeted the actor for getting the French award.
The other Indians who have been conferred the Chevalier Order include Satyajit Ray and actors Sivaji Ganesan, Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Nandita Das and Shah Rukh Khan. In his 56 year cinematic career, the versatile actor has been conferred with numerous awards and rewards for his artistic brilliance.
Yesterday Kamal Hassan said that he would like to dedicate this French award to his admires and audiences who gave him the tenacity of goal to pursue to the day in moment arts and letters. It is aimed at honouring artists and writers of world repute.
This award is a part of French awards. Kamal Haasan is now taking rest at home and would resume his work for Sabash Naidu after two months.
He also said he realised he’s not alone in his chosen field. “I dedicate this award to my admirers and audience who gave me the tenacity of objective to pursue this day and moment, my arts and letters”, he says. Teachers and admirers abound around me.
Haasan adds that he misses his parents, but is grateful that he can share his joy with the elders and youngsters in my family. Rajinikanth praised Kamal Haasan immensely and took to Twitter to wish the actor for getting the honour.
The film which was supposed to be a Diwali release has now been pushed to early 2017.
