Kansas edges Oklahoma in scintillating triple-overtime thriller
Unlike previous year, there isn’t one or two dominant teams in college basketball this season. Ratings are down, fan attendance is down, but games like this keep you strapped to your seat, with beer and chips all over the floor.
Khadeem Lattin went to the line at the other end with two seconds left, but the 52-percent foul shooter clanked the front end of a one-and-one off the iron to force overtime.
“That’s as good of a regular-season game as I’ve been a part of”, Kansas coach Bill Self said in the locker room. However, we got a definitive decision after three overtimes with Kansas coming out on top, 109-106. No. 1 and No. 2 have met 40 times previously in college basketball.
In a scintillating game worthy of the pregame hype, top-ranked Kansas edged second-ranked Oklahoma 109-106 in triple overtime.
Hield was so good that he churned through three different defenders, getting Selden and Graham into foul trouble and forcing Mason onto him for the balance of the game. In a 55-minute game, five-star freshmen Cheick Diallo and Carlton Bragg combined to play eight minutes.

Wayne Selden would end up missing a wide-open three as time expired to send the game into a second overtime tied at 86.
For the first time in Big 12 history, the Conference can boast two No. 1 teams, as both Kansas and Oklahoma are ranked No. 1 in the top 25 polls.
