Kansas Shooting: Last rites of Srinivas Kuchibhotla performed today
Relatives grief around the body of Srinivas Kuchibhotla.
The piece also questioned why US President Donald Trump has remained silent on the attack.
“I will not allow my younger son to go back to the U.S. again”. His friend and fellow engineer, Alok Madasani, survived the attack while suffering injuries.
So when a man says “Get out of my country” – shooting at two Indians unwinding over drinks at Austins Bar and Grill in Olathe (Purington reportedly was arguing with them over what visas allowed them in) – Indians are entitled to expect this murderous bigotry to dominate US news headlines. He is being held on $2 million bond and appeared in court February 27 to announce his lawyer. Kuchibhotla was pronounced dead at the hospital.
A despicable crime, but was it motivated by hate? “The FBI will continue to work jointly with Olathe Police Department and our state and local partners regarding this ongoing investigation”.
Despite the statement which came very late, democrats are criticizing President Trump for not directly condemning the Kansas incident, thus representing his hatred towards immigrants.
One page, set up by Kuchibhotla’s friends and family has more than quadrupled its $150,000 goal, with over $640,000 so far donated, while one set up for Grillot’s medical expenses has passed $400,000.
According to his profile on LinkedIn, Kuchibhotla, 32, graduated from the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University in Hyderabad in 2005 with an electrical engineering degree.
Srinivas and Alok were engineers working for Garmin, a Global Positioning System device maker in the US. Both men, both 32, were engineers at Garmin in Olathe. Madasani told the New York Times that Purinton initially approached the two of them to ask about their visas and whether they were in the country “legally”.
Madasani also told of another man who came to his side after he was shot.
“Something has changed in the United States”, he said.
Experts say India’s measured reaction was guided by more pressing concerns of the usa putting curbs on H-1B visas, which are the lifeblood of the Indian IT industry. He was a good person, he worked hard for what he believed.
“We tend to be a family here”, she told the AP. People from all countries migrate to US. We embrace it. We encourage it.
