Kanye West auditions for ‘American Idol: The Farewell Season’

Co-starring in the skit is West’s wife, Kim Kardashian, who does a believable backstage interview with host Ryan Seacrest.

Now, there are more hidden-talent shows airing all over the world than you can count, but it’s arguable that American Idol was the pioneer that made these shows big.

West chose to perform his hit-single from 2005 “Gold Digger” since “it has one of the judges names in it”, referring to Lopez. “I always wanted to rap and no one really believed in me”, said Kanye. This year, they found artists like Jeneve Rose Mitchell, a 16-year-old who lives off the grid on a mountaintop farm, where she learned how to sing and play cello in a very unique, funky way.

But Kanye West is not why we’re tuning in to American Idol season 15.

“It’s that tricky thing of, “Hey, it’s the 15th season, let’s do nostalgia, let’s look back at the show’s really rich history”, she said.

The rapper introduces himself to the panel of judges who were all smiles.

In addition to showing the preliminary tryouts in various states, a news report by the IB Times says Kanye West’s “audition” last September in San Francisco will also be included in Wednesday’s episode.

“What are you going to do for us today?” asked Jennifer Lopez.

AMERICAN IDOL XV will bring generations together to cheer and vote for their favorite contestants and crown America’s next singing sensation – one last time.

While “American Idol” has failed to produce bankable stars in recent years, the show’s top alums haven’t exactly been resting on their laurels. Clarkson, on the other hand, also boasts numerous song titles and music albums under her name since becoming the first “American Idol” victor in 2002.

It’s a side we haven’t seen of Yeezy before, simply because it’s a totally freakish yet entertaining act.

Well, the skit was part of a series of surprises that the show’s producers have set up to celebrate the final American Idol season.
