Kanye West Reportedly To Be Given Four Minutes “Free Reign” At VMAs
You’ll remember … Kanye won last year’s Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the show and took the stage for an 11 minute sermon that included talk of a presidential run in 2020. Still, according to People, it has nothing to do with West’s stunt (wink) or the fact that his “Famous”, which depicts a fictional Swift nude in bed with other celebrities, is nominated for Video of the Year (double wink).
Even though, for these reasons, Swift’s VMA attendance seems highly unlikely, speculation still abounds that she actually plans to show.
However, she did come out with videos for “Wildest Dreams”, “Out of the Woods” and “New Romantics” within the nomination cut-off.
During her acceptance speech for Album of the Year, Swift took a shot at West for his nod to her in “Famous” at the 2015 grammys.
It’s no secret that Kanye West does what Kanye West wants.
While it hasn’t been confirmed if the six-time VMA victor will be a part of the show with either as a performer or a presenter, she was spotted out and about in New York City (where the event is being held this weekend) on Wednesday, so there is still hope for a Swift cameo! Kim was just announced as a presenter at the 2016 VMAs, and it’d certainly be the ideal place to continue their very public feud!
What do you think Kanye will do? “It doesn’t exist because it never happened”, she claimed at the time. But Rihanna’s music videos also deserve a moment of consideration.
It should be noted that the VMAs are going down in New York City’s iconic Madison Square Garden this year, which is the same place where West debuted Pablo less than a year ago.
