Kanye West to open 21 ‘Pablo’ pop-up stores worldwide Friday
The 21 stores will be hit cities including London, Singapore, Amsterdam and Cape Town. That’s pretty much what happened when West opened a similar pop-up store in NY this spring.
Stay tuned to figure out where the New York City pop-up shop will be. Fourteen of the stores will be in major cities in the US, including New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Miami, Detroit and Los Angeles, among others.
Kanye West is opening pop-up stores in 21 cities across the globe this weekend-including one at a yet-to-be-announced location in Boston. The worldwide pop-up event will span 13 cities in the USA, three in EUROPE, and more in AUSTRALIA and ASIA.
All the shops are set to open on Friday August 19, and Kanye says he’ll announce the exact locations 24 hours beforehand.
The news comes amid reports that Kanye West will hold his Yeezy Season 4 fashion show – which will likely prominently feature his Adidas footwear line – at New York Fashion Week on September 7, according to WWD.
The magazine also unveiled that each location will feature its city’s name written on T-shirts and hoodies in the gothic-styled script of artist/West collaborator Cali Thornhill DeWitt, whose work has been featured on several TLOP merchandise designs.
The temporary stores continue Kanye’s partnership with Universal Music Group’s Bravado – the industry leader in merchandise and branding services for recording artists and brands.
The move comes on the back of the success of West’s three-day NY pop-up store which sold various exclusive merchandise.
“The godfather of the current phenomenon is Kanye West”, proclaims the New York Times.
On the heels of his deal with ADIDAS, and alongside “Pablo” sales events in NY, L.A. and PARIS, WEST will bring the experience to fans all over the world.
