Kanye West – USA president and ‘American Idol’?

The official World Star Hip Hop Instagram page posted a video of West’s audition as he rapped his hit song “Gold Digger” for the judges.

After receiving his golden ticket Kanye was all smiles, who knew he could smile that much though.

Kanye West surprised everyone as he tried his luck and auditioned at the “American Idol” in San Francisco on Saturday.

People tend to overlook Kanye’s sense of humor when analyzing his movements, and I think it’s fully possible that the American Idol visit was him and Kim having a bit of fun, rather than trying to make a few oblique commentary about the commodification of stardom. During his speech Obama offered West a few words of advice, following his announcement that he intends to run for office in 2020.

After his big audition, Kanye had an even bigger performance to attend – going from wowing the American Idol judges to impressing the American President himself. On the other hand, Rolling Stone pointed out that Fox has described the upcoming season as a “season-long celebratory event”, so maybe celebrity auditions are just part of the plan.

Back in May 2015, it was announced that the fifteenth season of American Idol would be its last. Kim hung out together with her pal, Ryan Seacrest, who hosted the singing show and who also happens to be a producer of the reality show “Keeping Up With The Kardashians”.

Moreover, The 46-year-old J. Lo enjoyed the moment as she sang and danced along from her seat as Kanye performed his track. You’ve got to be cool with that.

According to CNN, Obama initially made a joke, saying: “A little bit later you’re going to hear from a guy who I hear has been talking about launching a potential political career”. You can’t say something like that.
