Kapil Sharma may be called for questioning soon
The FIR was registered by Abhay Jagtap, Sub-Engineer P-South Ward under section 53 (7) of the MRTP Act.
Shortly after Fadnavis announced that he would get to the bottom of the allegations, the BMC asked Kapil to provide the names of those seeking illegal gratification, while the Shiv Sena and MNS attacked the actor for making false allegations and dared him to give proof.
The comedian stirred a controversy last week when he tweeted to PM Modi alleging that he was asked to pay Rs 5 lakhs by an official of BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) to build office.
Comedian Kapil Sharma lives on a 9th floor flat and Khan stays on 5th floor apartment of DHL Enclave in posh Oshiwara area on New Link Road, Mumbai Police official added. The Oshiwara Police will be calling Sharma in for questioning on the basis of the complaint. We found that there have been violations not only by Sharma but 50-60 other flat owners also. T notice says that Sharma should reveal the name of the civic officers involved in this crime within three days after he receives the notice else the civic body will presume that the statement so made by “you” (Kapil) in the social media and otherwise was to attract and to defame an institution and we shall take steps in accordance with law.
According to the latest report, BMC officials have found big violations in 15 flats in DLH enclave in Goregaon where Kapil Sharma and Irrfan Khan have their flats. As per a Times of India story, a jail sentence between one month to three years could result from a guilty conviction under these charges. Actor Irrfan Khan, of Piku fame, owns a flat on the fifth floor of the building. The BMC had issued the second notice to Kapil Sharma after the actor did not follow the notice of illegal construction.
NDTV reported that the MNS’ group leader in the BMC, Sandeep Deshpande, filed a complaint against Sharma at Versova police station.
Also, it is a duty of a person to lodge a complaint against that public servant with the concerned authority, and if he fails to perform his duties as per section 176, it amounts to an offence, the complaint further said.
