Karin is the newest challenger in Street Fighter V
The newest addition is another returning fighter, Karin Kanzuki, who we previously saw in Street Fighter Alpha 3.
Street Fighter V’s roster is really starting to fill out now, and Karin is the latest character to join the stage of history.
Street Fighter V will have 16 characters at launch and now we know of 12 of them: Ryu, Chun-Li, Nash, M. Bison, Cammy, Birdie, Karin, Ken, Necalli, R. Mika, Rashid, and Vega.
Karin has some tactical strikes and a unique fighting style that allows for her to get in close and not let her opponent recover. Here’s Capcom‘s quick overview of Karin if you’re not familiar with the character: Karin is the young heiress to the Kanzuki Zaibatsu, a global financial conglomerate that possesses vast wealth and resources.
Karin Kazuki is officially back for the fight. Sakura is a rival of Karin since both fighters are school girls. She’s described as a “well-rounded character, possessing a wide array of strikes”. Some of the options available to her after a Guren Ken include a flying throw, an overhead, another flurry of strikes or even a back dash. Fans and players will be able to visit CFN at any time to view player profiles, match statistics, replay videos, as well as register friends and send battle invitations.
Street Fighter 5 releases in 2016 for the PS4 and PC platforms. The Capcom Unity blog has some cool screenshots of what the Capcom Fighters Network will look like and has some more information regarding the CFN. Capcom’s collective decision to parade in characters new, classic and forgotten has me eyeballing Street Fighter V pretty hard.
This online community interface will allow players to connect with other Street Fighter V owners around the world.
