Kasper Schmeichel “slightly disappointed” with goalless draw against Man City
City have since failed to win a single league game on the road, with their last away victory coming at Crystal Palace more than three months ago.
“Vincent has an injury, second degree on his calf so we’ll see how many weeks he will be out”, Pellegrini told reporters after the Leicester game.
“I think the squad is complete”, said the City boss.
Kompany returned from injury as a substitute on Boxing Day but lasted only nine minutes before limping off again, and scans have revealed he has aggravated the same calf but with a different problem.
“I am not a doctor, but with a muscle injury, it will be very hard for him to be back in less than four weeks”.
English football club Leicester City battled star-studded Manchester City to a 0-0 draw here to boost their points total to 39, the same as Premier League leaders Arsenal though the “Gunners” remain at the top on goal difference. The clean sheet on Tuesday will please the manager though after City last had managed it against Aston Villa in November.
“Maybe we have to finish our chances a little bit better and improve the amount of offensive moments we have”. We know, because we know him and after all this year he needs two or three games to return to his normal performance. “But I think we are in the correct way”. “We had more possession, more attempts on goal, more clear options but it was a tough game against a very good team”.
“I m not happy but I m not disappointed either because we played well but didn t score”.
“If you can’t win it’s important not to lose and we were solid against a hard team”.
Pellegrini however is happy they are in a position to make a title charge in the second half of the season. I d love this to continue but it s not easy.
Norwich City lay in wait the following Saturday as City kick off their FA Cup campaign, and Pellegrini clearly wants his players to be fully focused as they head into 2016. “Always the best position is to be top of the table but I think that this is a special season in the Premier League”.
