Katherine Waterston Cast as Lead in ‘Alien: Covenant’
To date, Alien: Covenant (also the sequel formally known as “Prometheus 2”) has been quite the mystery to fans.
It’s thought that Alien: Covenant will be the first in a new trilogy of movies which build up to the events of the original Alien, though that obviously leads to the future of Alien 5 being in doubt as a result. Waterston’s character will no doubt be a part of a new group of explorers on the colony ship Covenant who will reach the planet where David still lingers – in that creepy way of his – and encounter a load of creatures. It’s highly likely. Scott’s plans are to pick up where Prometheus left off, with Rapace’s scientist and Michael Fassbender’s android David journeying to the Engineers’ home planet. While not much else has been given, it is easy to guess that Daniels will be one of the leaders on the space vessel that discovers David and what is left of his mission. In the fall, she portrayed Steve Jobs’ ex-girlfriend and the mother of his daughter in Steve Jobs.
The 35-year-old actress co-starred with Joaquin Phoenix in Paul Thomas Andersons Day-Glo noir Inherent Vice last year, and according to Deadline, she will play the lead in Scotts next science fiction adventure. Regardless, Alien: Covenant is now set to be released on October 6th, 2017, and we can’t wait to see how it turns out.
