Katie Holmes Dissed by Ricky Gervais for Using Tom Cruise

Recently at the 72nd annual Golden Globes, Ricky took the stage to present an award and we were actually quite surprised as he ended up dissing George Clooney, Meryl Streep, and Katie Holmes, as they did not have the right to be a right in Hollywood.

Ricky Gervais is known as one of the wittiest of actors in Hollywood and we feel, he did go way too far than just being simply witty at the Golden Globes on Jan. 11. From 2010-2012 Risky hosted the Globes and people tried to keep a distance from him due to his vicious mean-spirited prods. He had come to stage to present the Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical, we actually did not even have a hint that he would end up taking a swipe at Katie!

He did tip toe on stage for a few minutes and then said that stars would actually end up doing probably anything under the sun, to get famous and he started to blurt out names of stars that would do that ‘anything’. He took Meryl Streep’s name, which was so obvious a joke, and again George Clooney, which was a joke. Then gradually things started to turn out being a bit uncomfortable the moment he took Katie Holmes name!

He said that he would not look at Katie Holmes at all! This made the audience gasp, as it was surprisingly awkward. Even though he knew that Katie was there to present an award but it seemed he had particularly stated it because he wanted to make it over the top obvious that she shot to fame due to her marriage to superstar Tom Cruise. It is not that she does not know how to act, she definitely is an incredible actor, but it was exactly what he was trying to imply, that’s what we feel!
