Katrina Kaif And Aditya Roy Kapoor Reveal Many Secrets At Fitoor Promotions!
Firdaus (Katrina Kaif) is running towards a wooden bridge. I would have visited at least eight to nine more cities to promote the film.
After Srinagar is rocked by a blast to which Noor loses his sister, Firdaus is sent off to London for her studies. The first half is a visual treat. The long panoramic shots of Dal Lake, or the autumn lit apple trees are outstanding. She’s a vision in white, but all I could admire was the stark, cold beauty of Kashmir and how lovely the snowfall looked.
Too many elements, a haphazard narration, a bland Katrina Kaif, some breath-takingly lovely locales, magnificent Kashmir, a broodingly intense Aditya and a complexed Tabu; that summarises Fitoor for you! But on a more meaningful level for the Indian audience, it has to do with Great Expectations’ narrative, characters and themes, which is why I feel it will resonate completely with the Indian audience, not just in an Indian cultural setting, but one that is modern and reflective of today’s audience. As Kat is playing FIrdaus who is the muse of Noor, her hair is only seen completing the fact that she can compel an artist to capture her painting over the canvas. Will Noor let go of his childhood love Firdaus, will Firdaus have a change of heart and leave Bilal and get married to Noor or does the “Machiavellian” Begam have a way different plan for Firdaus is what forms the rest of the film. Needless to say, don’t look down at theirs. If only, Kapoor had the backing of a strong script, the film could’ve been a masterpiece. “I want to hear dream-like, talented, wistful or handsome – something more poetic”. Despite sharing the screen with a stalwart like Tabu she manages to hold her own. The boy cast as Noor speaks with an unmistakable Kashmiri accent, his attractive and kind sister walks with a mysterious limp that always halts Noor in his tracks, and the brother-in-law is supportive and unobtrusive. The scene of the bomb blast seems so real and comes so sudden that it will surely give you a jerk.
This Valentine week, you have two movies releasing the same day, which certain include the romantic drama Fitoor.
Dragging Kashmir issue in the films is quite an interesting step to increase the votes in favor of the story since last few years in Bollywood.
Katrina Kaif’s break-up rumours with Ranbir Kapoor have been the talk of the town, but the actress has buried herself in the promotions of upcoming film “Fitoor”.
