Katt Williams arrested after allegedly punching a woman
Comedian Katt Williams arrives at the VIP Pre-Fight Party for “High Stakes: Mayweather v. Berto” presented by Showtime at MGM Grand Garden Arena on September 12, 2015 in Las Vegas.
Comedian Katt Williams was arrested in Studio City on Sunday, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Police said an unidentified woman placed Williams under “citizen’s arrest” and officers transported him to jail for booking. He is now in custody with bail set at $20,000 (£15,230).
Police say the victim said Williams had punched her, leaving visible injuries. His lawyer didn’t immediately return a request for comment.
Williams has been involved in several other run-ins with the law during 2016. He was arrested back in February for hitting a clerk at a pool store in Gainesville, GA.
Nearly two years ago, Williams and rap producer Marion “Suge” Knight were arrested for allegedly stealing a camera from a photographer in Beverly Hills. Early Sunday morning (July 24), the troubled comedian got pinched in Sherman Oaks, CA, this time for misdemeanor battery of a female restaurant worker.
