Katy Perry is World’s Highest Paid Musician of 2015

This year’s top-earning musician Katy Perry has made $135 million, not thanks to selling many records mind, but by tramping her way around the world to play more than 120 shows for her Prismatic tour.

Perry appeared on the cover of Forbes under the headline “America’s Pop Export”.

In an interview, she said: “Music has changed”. “The record is that launching pad for all kinds of other creative branches”.

Taking second place was boy band One Direction, who collectively raked in $130 million over the past year. They pulled in seven-figure grosses at every stop in their 74-date tour. Number 4at the list is Taylor Swift with $80 million ’cause of a very acceptable extent to her 1989 album, which sold over three. But there are also some surprises on the list: country music star Garth Brooks came in third place, while 1970s rock group the Eagles managed to beat Beyonce. Combining her worth with DJ boyfriend of nine months, Calvin Harris, the two make for the highest-earning musical couple at $66 million. Other artists who qualified for the list include Justin Timberlake (US$63.5 million) and Sean Diddy Combs (US$60 million).
