Katy Perry pens tribute to make-up artist
Katy Perry had a few political duties to fulfill this weekend, including a campaign trail social media takeover.
The 31-year-old singer took over Clinton’s Instagram account and posted a photo of what she’s giving the Democratic candidate for her birthday.
Clinton has used Perry’s song “Roar” several times during her rallies, since she agrees with the song’s message. “In another post on Instagram, Perry and Clinton took a selfie together, which was captioned “#ImWithHer – Katy”.
Hillary Clinton turns 68 on Monday, and her celebrity supporters are taking to Twitter to celebrate.
A recent Iowa poll found Clinton with a slight lead over her main rival, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders. “Some women don’t like to discuss their ages, but I think that on your birthday, you should live it up!” she wrote in the invite. I believe in her policiesies.
When the singer hosted the MTV Europe Music Awards in 2008, just days after U.S. president Obama was first elected, she wore a yellow dress by designer Jean Charles de Castelbajac, emblazoned with Obama’s larger-than-life face. Happy Birthday Hillary Clinton! She also wore an American flag as a cape. The pop star’s uploads, featuring nail art, nieces and coloring books, and have drawn even more fireworks to Clinton’s account.
KATY PERRY [SINGING]: Baby you’re a firework. I stand and I march with Hillary.
