Keith Richards Premieres New Song, “Trouble”
Famously a member of the Rolling Stones for the past half a century, 71-year-old Richards is preparing to release his first solo record since 1992 in September.
Billboard said the 71-year-old, British musician performs vocals, guitar, piano and bass on the CD.
Guests on the album include Norah Jones, Aaron and Ivan Neville and the Harlem Gospel Choir. “There’s nothing like walking into a studio and having no idea what you’re doing to come out with at the other end”. If you’re looking for ‘Trouble, ‘ you’ve come to the right place. “Maybe trouble is your middle name / the trouble is that that’s your game”, he sings. Produced by Richards and longtime collaborator Steve Jordan (also in attendance), the 15 tracks include muscular rockers and a few more delicately bluesy numbers, as well as a wistful cover of the folk standard Goodnight Irene.
The Rolling Stones recently wrapped their North American Zip Code tour.
