Kellie Bright joins ‘Strictly Come Dancing’
The 24-year-old actress, who left the ITV soap earlier this year, will be waltzing her way onto the dance floor when the BBC show returns next month.
Georgia revealed that she has a small background in dance, but not of the ballroom variety.
Vicky Gill, the current Strictly Come Dancing costume designer, said: “The Abbey is a truly wonderful setting to house the 2014 collection of “Strictly” dresses and I hope the visitors will revel in seeing the dresses up close in the exhibition”.
Manchester-born Georgia has been appearing on British television since 2004.
Woburn Abbey will showcase the largest display of dresses worn by the celebrities and professional dancers from the 2014 cast of BBC’s “Strictly Come Dancing“. She has been in a number of television shows such as Life on Mars, Doctors, Casualty, Heartbeat, Emmerdale and This Is England 86.
But Georgia is best known for playing the role of Katy Armstrong in “Coronation Street“.
She said that all of the celebrities have been given codenames from Disney films to keep their identities a secret – and hers was Rapunzel from Tangled.
Coral spokesman John Hill said: “We expect Kellie to be very popular as she moves from the Old Vic to the Strictly dancefloor. Eeeek! Thanks for all your messages!”
Georgia joins EastEnder Kellie Bright, TV chef Ainsley Harriet and broadcaster Jeremy Vine on the line up so far.
The new series of Strictly Come Dancing will start on BBC1 in September.
