Kelly Clarkson opens up about hard pregnancy
Kelly spontaneously announced her second pregnancy while performing her track ‘Piece By Piece, ‘ which is about her estranged father, at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles in August after she was overcome with emotion mid-song.
Sitting down with Gayle King in a pre-taped interview for CBS This Morning this Wednesday, the 33-year-old opens up about complications she’s having, including her need to get IVs put in.
“It’s really bad.” Kelly added in that the struggles throughout the pregnancy are value it ’cause she gets to “pop out magical unicorns”, identical to her 17-month-old daughter River Rose. “I have to get IVs and fluids ’cause I get so dehydrated”. When she started getting emotional about a song, she came clean, telling the crowd, “I’m totally pregnant”. The Stronger singer, who is expecting her second child with husband Brandon Blackstock, said once again she has been suffering with sickness throughout her pregnancy.
For Clarkson, she’s gotten a lot of support from Blackstock to help her through her tough days.
“He’s the complete opposite of how my father was …” (The “Miss Independent” singer has previously said that her dad wasn’t around much while she was growing up.) “Well, he was present”.
Sickness and heartache aside, Clarkson has found happiness with a family of her own.
“My husband and I are like, ‘How did this happen?’ ” she says.
