Kelly: McCoy trade wasn’t handled right

With the Eagles in the stretch run of the NFC East race, Bradford can raise his stock over the next three games and build towards maximizing his career for an extended period of time. It remains to be seen whether the two will ever patch things up, but McCoy’s silence in his post-game interview says it all.

The Buffalo Bills could not overcome 15 penalties and a costly first-half turnover in losing on the road to the Philadelphia Eagles this afternoon, 23-20.

The Bills are 6-6 and now sit in the eight spot in the AFC playoff standings, behind a pack that consists of Kansas City, the Jets and Steelers. Bradford, the Eagles’ starting quarterback, threw 247 yards including a 53-yard TD to Nelson Agholor. The Eagles have allowed multiple TD passes over their last five games and their last two opponents have eclipsed 300 yards.

“I feel more comfortable, more confident in what we’re doing”, Bradford said.

Of course, McCoy is undoubtedly using his anger towards how things were left in Philadelphia (news of his trade was leaked to the media before he heard from the Eagles themselves) to fuel his preparations for a must-win game.

Shady’s remarks came out like hot fire Wednesday, especially when talking about his relationship, or lake thereof, with Eagles head coach Chip Kelly.

McCoy was angry at being traded, saying last summer that he felt it was racially motivated.

McCoy, who is the Eagles’ all-time leading rusher, received a mixture of boos and cheers from fans at the Linc.

Trailing 20-10 in the third quarter, Tyrod Taylor led to the Bills on back-to-back scoring drives highlighted by Mike Gillislee’s 19-yard touchdown run to pull Buffalo even with the Eagles at 20 a piece.

Ryan and his staff were believed to be upset about what they thought should have been an offensive pass interference call against the Eagles with just over 5 minutes left on a play in which tight end Zach Ertz gained 41 yards.

“LeSean doesn’t play that way”, Kelly said.

“That kid 91 is a player, but I don’t care if Reggie White was in there, we can’t hold them that much”, Bills coach Rex Ryan said after the game.

“As a defensive backfield, we pride ourselves on being able to go up and get the ball”, Reynolds said after the game.

Two weeks, that same team has won two straight games in December and controls its own destiny for a division championships – which would be said coach’s second in three years.

But a stunning 35-28 win at New England changed everything.
