Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan Accidentally Give Away a Trip on ‘Live!’

The over-eager presenter put his foot in it during a phone in quiz with a viewer, Kelly Copeland – who had to correctly answer one question about actor Jeremy Renner, a guest on the show earlier that week – to win the trip to Puerto Rico. “What sport did Jeremy say he once taught at a part-time job?” he asked. Michael, 43, asked the caller as part of the show’s “Summer Selfie Travel Trivia” sweepstakes. But, Michael obviously misheard the answer and exclaimed, “Bowling!”

As US host Michael Strahan found out when he made that exact error during his show Live With Kelly and Michael earlier this week.

Just as the countdown clock began its 20 seconds of answer time, Copeland repeated a word from the question: ‘Sport?’. “You got it!”

“She said sport”, an entertained Ripa clarified to the former NFL star, while smiling coyly.

“Well, you know what’s amusing is that some of the producers are looking at me like ‘you in trouble, ‘ and the other ones are laughing at me”, he said.

Thankfully, the caller proved that she did know the answer and was able to keep her vacation prize. “By the way, acoustically, it’s very hard to hear”, Ripa quipped.
