Kellyanne Conway took fight with Clinton aides personally
“You did, Kellyanne. You did”, an emotional Palmieri shot back. “He was the better candidate. How about you had no economic message?”
Conway and other Trump aides praised Bannon as a “brilliant tactician”.
While there was obviously a lot of tension throughout the meeting, tempers seemed to flare mainly between Hillary’s communications director Jennifer Palmieri and Trump’s campaign manager Kellyanne Conway when the subject shifted to Steve Bannon!
Anderson Cooper Friday pressed Kellyanne Conway over her coy response to news that the president-elect broke a 37-year old US protocol to not recognize Taiwan as a sovereign country, informing the former Donald Trump campaign manager that “this is uncharted waters”. Kellyanne Conway asked incredulously.
“As his presidency goes forward, I am going to be very glad to have been part of the campaign that tried to stop it”, said Palmieri. “The biggest piece of fake news in this election was that Donald Trump couldn’t win”, she said.
During the far-ranging series of conversations, a Clinton aide called FBI Director James Comey’s letters regarding the email investigation a “game-changer” and a former Trump aide said he thought the race was over after Trump criticized the war hero credentials of Sen.
“I think the American people agree with him that burning the flag is wrong”, said former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, who was sacked in June. “That’s clear. You won the Electoral College”. But with the Trump and Clinton teams face to face, and with the weight of history being written, it turned ugly fast. During the campaign, Trump said he would have his attorney general appoint a special prosecutor to review the Clinton inquiries.
Clinton’s team attributed their devastating defeat to a lot of factors – just few self-inflicted.
She said the question wasn’t whether voters were ready to elect a woman to the White House but whether they were ready to elect this particular woman.
The pugnacious, brawling Donald Trump voters got to know during the presidential campaign is back.
The well-funded Super PACs and extensive political organizations in battleground states “didn’t matter”, said Dave Kochel, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush’s chief strategist, who likened Trump to Godzilla. “Guys, I can tell you are angry, but wow”, she said. “And the problem with that is the American people didn’t”.
They chanted ‘Lock her up! And in the end, the reason she lost is she had nothing to say. Conway asked. “How about, it’s Hillary Clinton, she doesn’t connect with people?”
And yet Clinton campaign staffers in battleground states told VICE News that the campaign’s turnout operation in the closing days wasn’t focused at all on undecided voters.
Clinton’s advisers said they were harmed by Russians meddling in the election and the “drip, drip, drip” of news about Hillary Clinton’s emails, followed by the hacking of John Podesta’s emails that revealed internal campaign deliberations.
“Stein is not an aggrieved candidate, she can not possibly win, and she is putting the participation of every single MI voter in jeopardy, for no reason, at an exorbitant cost to the MI taxpayers”.
