Kendrick Lamar Releases New Track “Black Friday”
J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar have remixed each other’s songs as a gift for their fans on Black Friday.
Kendrick rapped over the Vinylz beat for Cole’s “A Tale of Two Citiez” to remind folks of who rules rap right now. At the conclusion of J. Cole’s “Black Friday,” he appears to hint that a more substantial collaboration between the two marquee rappers could arrive in 2016. He says you’re better off voting for Donald Trump than to praise one of his rap game disciples.
West first announced his intention to run in the 2020 United States election while accepting an award at the MTV VMAs in August 2015. In this exchange, dubbed Black Friday, Cole tackles K Dot’s “Alright” while the TDE rapper spits over the Dreamville MC’s “Tale of 2 Cities”. You can check out his new track in the player below.
Remember back in early September when the rap Internet almost lost its collective sh*t when an album cover popped up for a supposed collab project between Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole? J. Cole’s last verse on his “Alright” remix could be a clarifier: “But this February, bet shit gets scary when I f*** around and drop [censored]”.
