Kenny Chesney’s father arrested at East TN golf course
Former Claiborne County School Board member Dave Chesney was arrested and charged Tuesday afternoon after an alleged altercation with a neighbor.
Jonathan Jones, president of the neighborhood’s homeowners’ association, confronted Chesney for allowing his dog to roam without a leash on the grounds of the Woodlake Lodge, Golf & Country Club, police said.
At some point during the incident, Chesney hit his 32-year-old neighbor with a golf club and punched him several times in the face.
Chesney, a former Claiborne County school board member, is charged with vandalism under $500 as well.
After his arrest, sheriff’s deputies executed a search warrant on Chesney’s condo and seized his golf clubs, according to Chief Deputy Wayne Lee.
Chesney allegedly knocked the victim’s sunglasses off his face and “stomped” them with his foot.
Dave William Chesney, 72, also of Tazewell, was lodged in the Claiborne County Justice Center pending his arraignment on Wednesday.
