Kentucky teenager killed moving heavy football equipment
A western Kentucky teenager died after being hit in the head by a piece of football equipment on a practice field where he was helping to move it.
Still in shock, the entire Hopkinsville community came together to say goodbye Friday, to a football player killed at practice Thursday night.
A 17-year-old Hopkinsville High School student died Thursday after a piece of heavy football equipment fell.
Meanwhile, Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Keith Tandy was excused from the team’s preseason game in order to return home to Hopksinville to mourn the loss of Quarles, his nephew.
Those with the Hopkinsville Police Department Detective Section said the investigation was ongoing.
The students at Hopkinsville High School set up a GoFundMe account for Quarles’ family. The team’s first regular season game is scheduled for next Friday.
