Kermit and Miss Piggy have Emmy lunch with Audi
Miss Piggy appeared on Good Morning America on Wednesday to promote her Muppets reboot and of course, the conversation turned to her highly-publicized split from Kermit the Frog. Give me my “Statler and Waldorf Are Dead” episode with the two curmudgeons as heroes, and give it to me by midseason! Like the old Muppets, the new Muppets has guest stars on the show within the show.
Kermit and Pepe, on the other hand, are not so careful about their swiping choices when presented with pictures of celebs like Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj, Miley Cyrus, Amy Schumer, and more.
Take a look at my video review and tell us what you think. In Muppet terms, it’s certainly better than prison sushi.
Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie, Scooter and the gang are all back with not one show but two. So flawless is the idea of a late-night talk show called “Up Late With Miss Piggy” one has to wonder. And we get one last celebrity cameo, as Kermit encounters Community’s Joel McHale at the valet stand, where McHale says he’s “being green” by driving an Audi plug-in hybrid. Once you open the window a crack, you’re gonna have to throw open the doors eventually. Miss Piggy “is a whirlwind”.
“Well duh, we’re no longer together!” explains Miss Piggy. The multi-generational appeal of the characters isn’t tied to what they look like as much as it is the stories of who they are, he said, so a show peeking into their personal lives makes sense. It just may not be enough to win any new fans in the adult demographic (for whom the show is skewed, although it’s also fine for kids, too).
