Kerry: Charlie Hebdo Massacre Had Clearer ‘Rationale’ Than Paris Attacks
And Kerry’s statement assumes a few degree causality between Charlie Hebdo’s content and the deaths of 10 of its editorial staffers, while arguably one of the bases of a free or democratic society is that such a connection between speech and physical safety can never be legitimate or rational.
Gov. Chris Christie (R., N.J.) said that Secretary of State John Kerry “needs to get a few sleep and shut up” Wednesday in response to Kerry’s comment that he could see a “rationale” behind the Charlie Hebdo attacks.

Doctors and hospitals in Paris scrambled early Saturday to treat at least 200 people who were reported injured in six separate terror attacks Friday night.
“In France, we always have the right to write and draw. We have champagne”, reads the headline of the publication’s new issue.
“Without realizing it, Parisians in 2015 have become like the Londoners of the 1940s, determined not to give in to fear no matter what”, wrote Laurent Sourisseau.
“Forgive me if my cartoons lead to misunderstanding”, Sfar continued. “Of course we welcome any loving thoughts for Paris, whether they are religious or not”.
