Kevin Anderson edges out Kei Nishikori in Shanghai Masters third round
Tennis bad-boy Nick Kyrgios received his third code violation warning during his 1-6 6-4 6-4 loss against Japan’s Kei Nishikori in the second round of the Shanghai Masters.
Then, against Nishikori on Wednesday, Kyrgios lashed out at chair umpire Mohamed Lahyani after receiving a code violation for hitting the ball toward the baseline after a missed serve, causing the line judge to bend to avoid being hit. The final set went with serve until Nishikori broke in the 10th game and he went on to clinch a spot in the last 16.
In other third-round matches, world No. 1 Novak Djokovic defeated 15th-seeded Spaniard Feliciano Lopez 6-2, 6-3, while third seed Andy Murry of Britain needed three sets to defeat 13th seed John Isner of the United States 6-7 (4-7), 6-4, 6-4.
Kyrgios, 20, was fined ,500 (£984) on Tuesday after calling the tournament a “circus” and complaining about the ball kids during his win over Andreas Haider-Maurer.
The Australian is serving a six-month suspended sentence for sledging French Open champion Stan Wawrinka and will be banned for four weeks should he accrue fines totalling $US5000 before February 24.

Johnson was able to keep up with Murray in the second, with the set going on serve until 5-4. “People want to watch you, and I don’t think they mind that stuff to be honest, even though it makes headlines it makes it fun for the fans to watch”, said the teenager. Capitalizing on a few sloppy play from Kyrgios in the tenth game, the Jananese had a decisive break to level the match at 6-4. “But I tried to stay calm and concentrate on what I have to do”, the Japanese world No. 6 said.
