Kevin Durant injury: Thunder star out 7-10 days with hamstring strain

Washington’s effort against the Thunder was particularly egregious, especially since Kevin Durant exited the game with a strained hamstring at halftime, so Wittman has a right to be animated. Durant was injured during the second quarter of a 125-101 victory at Washington on Tuesday night.

This season, Durant is averaging 28.1 points (fourth in NBA), 7.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.25 blocks and 34.7 minutes in eight games (all starts).

First and foremost, the Wizards hold one thing over every other potential suitor for Durant next summer: the opportunity to play for his hometown team.

Durant, a fan favourite from the nearby Maryland suburbs near Washington, grabbed at his left leg late in the second quarter. OKC finished the game shooting 65.2% from three, went to the line 29 times, and assisted 27 times on 44 made shots.

“Honestly, nothing”, noted an National Basketball Association advanced scout, referring to the supposed changes in the plays and strategies of the Oklahoma City Thunder squad, according to USA Today. The only Durant jerseys were of the Oklahoma City Thunder variety, and there were plenty of them.

“With Kevin not coming out of the locker room in the second half, I thought our guys came out with great focus and we got stops defensively which enabled us to get out on the break”, Donovan said.
