Kevin Durant Joins New Warrior Teammates For First Time Tonight In Oakland
OAKLAND, Calif. – New Warriors addition Kevin Durant emerged from the tunnel to a hearty cheer from the Oracle Arena crowd as he came out for his pregame warm-up ahead of Tuesday’s Team USA exhibition game. DeMarcus Cousins led the scoring with 21 points, Carmelo Anthony added 20 off the bench, and Thompson finished with 15. Durant scored 10 of the United States’ first 16 points before finishing with 13 points, three rebounds, two assists and a steal.
You know it’s an exhibition game when something off the court stirs a crowd reaction more feverish than anything on the court.
Team USA obliterated China in their second tune-up game in preparation for the 2016 Rio Olympics.
“It’s fun to see him out there knowing he’s going to be playing for us, to be honest”, Myers said. So, assuming Team USA wins, the home crowd gets to see Draymond Green, Klay Thompson, and new-Dallas Maverick Harrison Barnes leave the ROARCLE this summer with a W. The Warriors felt that they needed to make a move, and they went out and signed Kevin Durant. So Warriors fans have to wonder if KD will rock his newest shoe in the Warriors-colored vintage released earlier this month.
Team USA heads to Chicago where they will resume practice on Thursday before facing Venezuela at the United Center on Friday night.
Durant noticed it, as did Jordan, who kicked off the festivities by blocking a shot on China’s first possession and throwing down an alley-oop dunk on the Americans’ first possession.
“I’m just gonna try my best to fit in but also play my game, and everyone around me I think is going to elevate me”. This was the second game between the two national teams this week. I appreciate all the basketball fans who come and enjoy us playing.
“KD” received a thunderous ovation during the pre-game introductions – the cheers reverberating even longer than those for established Warriors stars Klay Thompson and Draymond Green.
I just wanted to make sure you noticed. Oklahoma City ended up falling to Golden State in seven games after taking a 3-1 lead on the team that won a regular-season record 73 games. With Green on the Mic He asked everybody let’s give applause to the newest member of the Warriors and the fans were more than happy to follow that request.
Durant didn’t say it was “different” with any shock or wonderment in his voice.
“Coming back here, obviously, it was a US thing, but to me it’s more about him (Durant) than anything”, Green said after the game.
