Kevin Durant leaves Wizards game with strained hamstring

On Wednesday, the Thunder announced that Durant underwent an MRI, which confirmed he has a strained left hamstring.

After Durant missed most of last season with a foot injury, a strain is the best news for the organization, however, it is still worrisome for Durant.

Durant has averaged 28.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.25 blocks to help lead the Thunder and new Coach Billy Donovan to a 5-3 start.

That said, Durant would immediately jump aboard as the face of the franchise and primary scoring option of the team.

Wittman ended his postgame press conference by responding to a question about rookie Kelly Oubre, who set career highs in minutes and points while playing mostly when the game was already decided. As John Wall put it, “they just outrebounded us and outhustled us on every play”.

After missing 55 games last season because of three surgeries, Kevin Durant’s comeback tour has hit a temporary snag.

Durant was fouled later in the second quarter, and he went down grabbing his left leg. He scored from the resulting couple of free throws and featured for the remaining two minutes that session.

Washington avoided their recent rash of turnovers, yet lost their third straight game while conceding their most points this season.

The unbelievable thing is Washington was a stingy defense past year, rating fifth in points allowed per possession.
