Kevin Durant meets with Warriors
Durant just started what is likely to be the most anticipated free agent decision since LeBron James chose to leave the Miami Heat and return to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Durant met with the Thunder on Thursday and the Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Clippers on Friday.
Clippers owner Steve Ballmer, Coach Doc Rivers and front-office executives Lawrence Frank and Dave Wohl attended the meeting along with star players Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan.
Moments later in the interview Bun B drops his best pitch to Kevin Durant to bring him to the team after letting it be known that the 27-year old millionaire is his top free agent choice and a close friend of his.
The four-hour meeting between Durant and the Clippers was reported by Chris Broussard of ESPN.
“It was a really, really, really good meeting”, a source told ESPN about Howard’s visit with Atlanta.
One person familiar with the meeting said it “went very well”, with the 2014 National Basketball Association most valuable player appearing engaged with a presentation that focused on how the veteran small forward would help build a championship-caliber roster.
Day 1 of the Kevin Durant sweepstakes is officially in the books.
Despite the positive meeting and the rumors that Durant was “blown away” by the Clippers, it would still be a surprise to see him pick Los Angeles. Durant is projected to make $26.6 million next season if he stays with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Durant led the Thunder to the NBA Finals in 2012, and to the Western Conference Finals in four of the past six years.
Saturday, it’s Boston and San Antonio’s turn to “wow” Durant.
The pursuit of Kevin Durant will be happening all weekend.
