Kevin Durant out 7-10 days with hamstring injury

Before his latest injury, the 27-year-old player only participated in 27 games last season, after having three surgeries to fix a Jones fracture in his right foot.

Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook is one of the very best playmakers in the National Basketball Association.

It was a second triple-double of the season for Westbrook, who recorded 21 points, a career-high 17 rebounds and 11 assists to cover for the absence of leading scorer Kevin Durant, who missed the first of an expected five games with a strained hamstring.

Donovan’s team has scored at least 124 points in back-to-back games for the first time since February after averaging 100.3 during a three-game losing streak.

That helped the Thunder (6-3) end the third quarter with a 71-61 advantage, and they went on to wrap up their third straight win and 12th in a row over Philadelphia.

Philadelphia’s Jahlil Okafor, who had led all rookies with 20.6 points per game, finished with six on 3-for-18 shooting.

This will be the first of only two meetings between the two teams so it is important for these two squads to get the victory. Expect the power forward to continue averaging 32 minutes, 12.2 points, and 9.8 rebounds per game as he did during the beginning of the regular season. He’ll be coming back from a wrist injury that caused him to miss the last two games. Off the bench, the 76ers feature what can be described as a good D-League team: Isaiah Canaan, JaKarr Sampson, Hollis Thompson, and Richaun Holmes.

Starting Line-Up – Thunder head coach Billy Donovan has a couple options to replace Durant in the starting line-up. A third option is to start Anthony Morrow at the SG position.

Trap Game Potential – The Thunder have already gifted one team their first victory of the season (Houston).

No Kevin Durant, no worries for Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder.

While the assist is, at best, an imperfect measure of a player’s passing contributions, Westbrook excels across a wide variety of measures of passing. Limit the turnovers and the game should easily go in the Thunder’s favor.
