Kevin Love Practices Fully For First Time Since Injury
Kevin Love returned to practice Saturday for the first time since injuring his shoulder last May and could appear in a preseason game on Thursday.
“(Six months is) just a ballpark figure that has generally been thrown out there by anybody who has talked about the rehab process for this kind of an injury”, Love said.
“It’s been, what, about six months now, so I was pretty anxious to get back out there”, Love said, smiling. As far as progressing from the pad into 1-on-1, to 3-on-3, I was ready to get back out there in 5-on-5. Just getting into the rhythm of the plays and getting my legs under me with the contact, it felt good.
He will likely log his first minutes on Thursday when the Cavaliers host the Indiana Pacers.
One meme about Tristan Thompson captures perfectly the situation between him and the Cleveland Cavaliers, and how his insistence on getting an undeserved max contract comes from being delusional, or simply greedy. “Obviously that raises the level of practice and makes everybody feel good to see him back out there”. “He’s been very anxious to play with the guys, but we’ve been holding him back because we want to stick with our plan for him”. He underwent surgery on April 30 and was reduced to being a cheerleader while the Cavs remained in the playoffs.
Barring an unexpected setback, Love will be in the starting lineup when Cleveland tips off the entire National Basketball Association season October 27 at Chicago. Today was the first step..
As time goes, Ill get more and more accustomed to being out there playing.
The good news for central Ohio fans: James is expected to play on Monday at Value City Arena when the Cavs take on the Memphis Grizzlies.
Kevin looked good, Blatt said.
“I’m still hoping that the opener is something that I’ll be playing in”, he said. He’s going to be so good for us. “I’m excited to just have him back on the floor”.
Even LeBron James was impressed with his teammates recovery. Love has put in extra work shooting left-handed to stretch his shoulder and get the oil flowing smoothly again. “No hard feelings on either side”. The 6-5, 205-pounder spent last season with Paris-Levallois in the French LNB Pro A League.
