Key Multiplayer Details Arrive Ahead of Halo 5 Release Date
Guardians developer 343 Industries has just showcased a huge guide and a lengthy video detailing the all-new REQ system that’s found in the multiplayer Arena and Warzone modes from the upcoming shooter. Cards come in Common, Ultra Rare, Rare, Uncommon and Legendary.
Permanent REQ Cards can only be used in Warzone and unlock access to Loadout Weapons, Armor Mods, and other items that can either be cosmetic or affect gameplay.
Waiting anxiously to get your hands on Halo 5: Guardians?
Check out some of the revealed REQ Cards below. Every time you do something online – be it kill someone in a specific way, or do something exceptionally cool – you’ll be rewarded with REQ points.
There are two main types of REQ cards, there are single-use cards and permanent cards. It’s worth noting that aside from a few select exclusive items, everything in REQ System can be acquired through the regular course of play by earning REQ Points and redeeming them for REQ Packs. Which is why they are limited exclusively to Warzone and will not appear in the competitive Arena mode. You can spend those points requisitioning new armor, weapons, vehicles, and power-ups such as overshields during multiplayer matches.
Mister Chief is the woefully underutilized unofficial Halo mascot originally doodled by 343 Industries Franchise Director in a then-Bungie Weekly Update leading up to the release of Halo 2. Sometimes these cards focus on player customization and upgrades. As you level up, more energy is unlocked, allowing you to bring in more powerful weapons.
At launch, there will be more than 1,000 different REQ packs available for purchase with REQ points or real world money.
At the time, we didn’t know how far we could take the system, or exactly how much content we could create.
