Kids found living in crate in cave, mother arrested
A 24-year-old mother has been charged with child endangerment after her dirty, barefoot four- and six-year-old children were found living in a wooden shipping crate in an underground cave in Kansas City, Missouri. The four-year-old child was eating dry Ramen noodles from a cup that had dirt in it with the noodles.
Police arrested Mugrauer Friday and prosecutors have charged her with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
Mugrauer told investigators that her children had been living in the cave for several days and acknowledged leaving them there alone, the probable cause statement says.
Mugrauer is in jail.

After being taken to the hospital for evaluation and to be cleaned up, detectives said the children told them their mother was Brittany, they didn’t know where she was, but know she had to take her boyfriend “Sean” to the hospital because he “smashed his finger”.
