Kim Kardashian, Kanye West take Saint West home from hospital
Rapper Kanye West and reality TV star Kim Kardashian are rarely accused of understatement and have given a fittingly grand name to their second child – Saint.
Kardashian made the announcement on Twitter, posting of picture of her growing family in emojis with the caption “SAINT WEST”.
The new mother took to her official website just 48 hours since her son’s delivery to reveal his name.
A source tells the site they left Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Tuesday, just two days after Kardashian gave birth to her second child. “The baby is doing well, too, and is able to stay in their luxury suite”.
Us Weekly reports that after North was born in June 2013, Kris Jenner, her grandma, explained the idea behind the name during an appearance on The View.
A fan even joked the couple – who also have two-year-old daughter North – should invite the tweeter to Saint’s christening. Hint, Saint had a close race with a different name that is fashionable. “One of the reasons Kim and Kanye went with the name Saint is that it goes perfectly with the middle name they chose, Robert [Kardashian, Kim’s late father]”. Kim wrote on her website and app. While the details were slow to come, the reality star has now revealed that the new baby’s name is Saint and he was born weighing 8 pounds, 1 ounce.
During the show, Kardashian revealed that although she liked the name Easton, Kanye was against it so it was more than likely not going to happen.
However, Saint’s birth wasn’t easy for Kim as she reportedly suffered from placenta accreta, where the placenta remains attached to the womb, and was forced to deliver him three weeks ahead of her due date on Christmas Day (25.12.15).
Kim tweeted photos of herself and her baby bump hours before the birth.
Had they been living in New Zealand the Department Of Internal Affairs would have rejected the name as none are allowed which imply title or rank.
