Kim Kardashian says use of selfies can be empowering
How could she not be? Adding that she is not one to keep a gun in her house because they scare her.
Kardashian reportedly told her PR posse that her father was a lawyer and that she was comfortable in that world.
But there was nothing in Kardashian’s tone that was bragging. Kardashian talked about the different superfans with whom she’s connected IRL, including a young woman named Myleeza who went from randomly tweeting at her at a Kanye show to being the lucky recipient of an upcoming birthday visit from Kim herself. The television personality revealed that she was also wearing Spanx not to “squeeze the baby”, but to hide the cellulite.
Judge Cordell also challenged Kardashian on several political topics, including same-sex marriage and presidential race. The institution’s fans and critics, however, already expressed their opinions on inviting Kim as a speaker.
Judge LaDoris Cordell asked about her popularity. She reviewed the 445 selfies in the star’s new book titled “Selfish”. Then Kardashian handlers feared she’d get ripped apart by a legal-eagle in front of a gawking audience of 1,400 at the Castro Theatre in San Francisco when they discovered that the bodacious one had personally selected “a judge” from a list of five possible interviewers sent to her by the Club. Do the media degrade women, Cordell asked, to the status of mere sexual objects?
We should remember Kim’s made major millions from her makeup, hair care, perfume, and clothing lines. Kardashian said that she loves social media and credits it to her success.
“I think there’s power in that, and I think I have the control to put out what I want and I’m proud of that. I didn’t make a whole lot of money, so if I wanted to buy something, I would sell things”, she claimed.
‘I always learn from my mistakes but something like a photoshoot, I never regret. “Even if it’s objectifying myself, I’m OK with that”.
To the extent that she has stripped for photo shoots, she admits she has struggled with feeling good about growing up with a body that didn’t fit the tall, slender ideal established in her girlhood by supermodels like Cindy Crawford. “I used to look at every comment, everything”, she admitted. Of her infamous full-frontal Paper cover, she says the shoot was “empowering” and that she would “absolutely do it again”. “Also, Kanye is very vocal, so I’m sure he’ll have a lot more to say to my kids”.
Other iconic names to speak for the club include former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and ex-California Governor and actor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
On her family’s reaction to Caitlyn: “Everybody [in the family] has their own transition to accept and support this”.
