Kim Kardashian West’s app breaks Apple Store
After the app’s release, Kim sent out a series of tweets suggesting that the iTunes App Store was down or was having technical difficulties, saying at one point, “Apple, I’m so sorry I broke your App Store!!!”
The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star took to Twitter to ask her fans to be patient after the App Store crashed as there were “massive downloads ” of her new emoji app called Kimoji.
The reality TV star has since described Saint’s arrival as the “most painful experience ever”, and her condition placenta accreta, where the placenta grows too deeply into the uterus, is also said to have caused complications.
#ConvoWithMom #KIMOJI I know the App Store is still working hard to fix everyone’s app!
While Apple has now reportedly fixed the app store issues, concerns over whether the app is safe to use have now been circling based on the following warning which appears when users attempt to download the app: “Full access allows the developer of this keyboard to transmit anything you type, including things you have previously typed with this keyboard”.
She even tweeted a silly apology. The Kimoji app became available on the Apple store on Monday, for the price of $1.99.
Husband Kanye West praises Kim for releasing her new app by picking his favourite racy Kimoji. It’s possible Apple prioritized indexing the app to ensure more people could find it by late Monday afternoon, but in no way did Kimoji “break” the App Store for any period of time.
Kardashian promoted the app with emoji previews and screenshots of conversations demonstrating the emojis’ ability to replace words in everyday texting exchanges.
The app outranks her sister’s ‘Kylie Jenner Official App, ‘ which is at No. 5.
