Kindle’s Home Screen Is Finally Getting Updated
The refreshed layout highlights your most recent books, reading list and recommendations – making it easy to access the content you’re after.
Even though more people are starting to use their tablets to read books, the e-reader is far from dead, hence why Amazon has just chose to update its Kindle range.
Some of the new features in the update will include a personalize home screen, easier access to the settings feature, easier sharing an book recommendations based on which books you like. The update’s rolling out sometime this month and unless you’ve turned off the auto-update feature on your Kindle, it will happen automatically.
“Your Kindle will soon receive a free, over-the-air software update”. Some of the items that the reader can view on this new section include the books on the Amazon Wish List, downloaded e-book samples and books that are saved on the reader’s Goodreads Want to Read.
The first enhancement mentioned by Amazon in the related web post is a personalised home screen.
Basically, it’s everything you’d need to hand over more cash to Amazon for ebooks. And while the list of recommended books remains at the bottom of the home screen, Amazon is implementing a new system to help hone those suggestions; you can enter your favorite genres and rate some specific books to give Amazon a better idea of what to surface.
