Kinver High School celebrates “pleasing” A-level results
He added: “Perhaps most importantly the success enjoyed by the students at Manshead sixth form means that they have secured their university places and employment opportunities”.
In addition, a number of Year 12 students achieved major success in their AS-level examinations.
Students sitting the A level exams this year achieved 100% A* to C grades in eleven subject departments: Art and Design; Drama; Further Mathematics; French; Spanish; Drama; Health and Social Care; Religious Studies; Sports Studies; Engineering and Construction. “Lots of smiles and excited students”.
Laura Baker achieved A*, A, A in Maths, Chemistry and Physics.
“I look forward to seeing our students go out into the world and make a real and positive difference”.
He said: “Mid-August has arrived and the worry of thousands of students has come to an end. Applications to Glyndwr University for study in 2015/16 are now 8% up on previous year”.
Sam Rickets got an A* in science, an A in product design and a B in business and he plans to study law with business at Nottingham Trent University.
He said: “We are absolutely delighted”.
The school’s A-Level pass rate has also increased 97%.
Max said: “It’s so good”.
“I’ve loved it here. Some have exciting plans for gap years including travel overseas and work experience”.
Alanna Halsall, from Woodseats, was delighted with her B and two C grades, and is taking a year out to decided what to do next.
And the gap between the girls and the boys is the narrowest it has been for 10 years. “I can not wait to start University!” “I didn’t think I would pass at all”.
“It was really challenging but very rewarding”, she said.
“Everyone, regardless of the grades they have received, will have a range of options open to them and it is vital that they discuss those options with their school and find the best path for their future”. With a large and successful sixth form of over 200 students the school goes from strength to strength.
“I would like to recognise the achievements off all the students here today – not just the A-levels, but everyone who received excellent BTEC results too”.
