Klay Thompson sprains ankle after scoring
The Golden State Warriors have won 13 straight regular season road games. Obviously, foul trouble and the flow of the game affect that, but we don’t like playing Andre and Shaun heavy minutes because of the back-to-back and them being older. “I’m not just trying to gas the Celtics, but if Klay Thompson isn’t 100 percent I think the Celtics will win this game”.
“As swell as Golden State is, I’m not feeling a W streak “record” that incl. last season but skips over 5 playoff losses”.
Thompson rolled his ankle late in the game and said afterward he expected to be bruised for the next couple of days. He is also coming off his best game of the season by putting up 39 points and hitting 10 three-point shots. “You want to win every game that you play”.
Marcus Thornton scored a season-high 32 points for the Rockets, who fell behind by 18 points and got quiet nights from stars James Harden and Dwight Howard.
Here’s Stephen Curry in TDK Garden in Boston during warmups for tonight’s tilt with the Celtics – Golden State’s fifth of seven straight road games.
Following their game Tuesday night against the Indiana Pacers Thompson repeatedly stated that he would be fine to play Friday night. At age 30, the Bulls legend retired with averages of 30.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 2.3 steals per game.
Indiana, who outscored the Warriors 40-20 in the final quarter, were led by Paul George (33 points) and C.J. Miles (24 points). The explosive point guard is one of four Celtics, along with Avery Bradley, Jae Crowder and Kelly Olynyk, averaging at least 14.8 points and shooting over 43 percent from 3-point range over the past four.
“If you don’t come to a Sixers game, then you don’t get tickets to the Warriors”, he said. When he has that look, he is going to have his confidence all night.
The Warriors remained unscathed after its games against the Pacers and the Raptors, which are the best teams (record-wise) that they’ll face before they play the Cleveland Cavaliers on Christmas Day. The only other time the Pacers gave up 44 points in the opening quarter was at Chicago in December 1990.
Thompson, after not participating in practice Wednesday, took part in a spot-up shooting drill and said afterward that the sprain suffered in the 23-0 Warriors’ win at in was “very mild”.
